This 7,000sqm. mixed use regeneration scheme in Bloomsbury and just off Tottenham Court Road included the reconstruction of a former Petrol Station and forecourt dating from 1926 which has been converted to a new restaurant. The project featured a new BREEAM Excellent office building arranged over three levels, while to the rear the Grade II Listed building was restored as a suite of offices. The flank wall of the new office building incorporated an art panel of painted ceramic tiles by Brian James. The project was highly commended by London Borough of Camden in the Camden Design Awards 2013.
This 24,000 sqft development of primary commercial space was completed in 2015 and boasted 6 luxury residential flats and one penthouse. All space is currently let and residential property sold.
A great deal of attention has been given to the impression of the building, including a graffiti wall in the entrance, rustic feature walls in the cores while providing tenants large, open and flexible spaces.
Working with the young and energetic co-working partnership WORK.LIFE Chartes completed the fitout and refurbishment of WORK.LIFE's third entry into the office environment. The success of this project has led Chartes to be commissioned on two subsequent projects for WORK.LIFE; Clerkenwell and Reading.
